Lily Collins reveals she'd 'love to have a family' with herfiancé Charlie McDowell.

The actress, 33, offers a rare insight into her marriage with the American film director and screenwriter, 39 as she channels her inner Audrey Hepburn for a striking cover shoot for Harper's Bazaar.

Lily talks about the joy of starring in Emily In Paris, what it's like to work with her husband and why she is finding fulfilment behind the camera as well as in front.

The Netflix star, who lives up to her character Emily's fashion status by modelling an array of chic outfits, details if any baby plans are on the horizon after tying the knot with Charlie in 2021.

'Of course, I'd love to have a family. So there's the personal, the work, there's the blending of the two… It's always a juggle, but I want it to be – I want to be able to do all the things I enjoy. The key thing is finding out what makes sense for us,' she says.

Lily jokes there were times when she forgot her now-husband Charlie was her fiancé while working together on set of 2021 Windfall.

The actress played the wife of a wealthy CEO, with the couple coming to their holiday home to discover a burglar.

Of working alongside Charlie, she says: 'It was quite seamless because Charlie treated all the cast the same way – he's very much an actor's director. There were times I forgot he was my fiancé, because we had such a creative rapport.'

Lily goes on to talk about the success of Emily In Paris, which has catapulted her fame and been a huge Netflix hit.

And the screen star says the titular character has changed her life in more ways than one - from her fashion choices to her outlook.

She says: 'Emily is a constant optimist, so it's a lovely, familiar feeling playing her. I think having her in my life has really helped me… I like that she's unapologetically herself.'

'I take new risks because of Emily, whether that's with colour palette, texture, print or shape – she helps me branch out and try new things.'

And Lily does just that in the photoshoot as she slips into a strapless pencil dress with evening gloves and a net fascinator - with her brown hair and winged eyeliner emulating the iconic Audrey Hepburn.

On why she accepted the Emily in Paris role, Lily reveals: 'A lot of the work I'd been doing was less 'pop culture', more left-of-centre, quietly confident material, so I wanted to find something that was grounded in the world of romantic comedy – but it had to be the right thing.'

Lily also hit back at Emily In Paris critics after the series was initially hit with skepticism.

The first series received a mix reaction from some viewers who claimed it used 'unfair; and 'outdated' stereotypes of French people.

'I think the fact it's gone on for three seasons means enough people are loving it to binge on it… and even if you want not to like it, you're probably bingeing too!',' she says.

'When we went back to film the second season, people would just come up to us on the street and say, "Thank you for the show – thank you for making us smile".'

The debut season of Emily In Paris premiered in October 2020.

At the beginning of 2022, season three and four of the popular rom-com series were renewed.

Variety reported that the two seasons were concurrently in production in September 2022.

Seasons one to three are currently streaming on Netflix, and the fourth installment will reportedly be released at the end of 2023.
