Automatic Love

The mission starts with you receiving Judy's phone number after exiting Tom's Diner. To start it in earnest, call her. Answer however you like, but if you're playing as a female V and you want to romance her later in the story, it's recommended to be honest with her throughout her missions. After the phone call, head to Lizzie's Bar to talk to her in person. Again, the choice of responses is yours. No matter what you answer, Judy will eventually give you a clue to Evelyn's whereabouts; a fancy cigarette case with a card referring to the luxury brothel Clouds.

Head towards Clouds on the twelfth floor of Megabuilding 8 in Japantown and speak to the woman at the reception. You will have to pay €$500 and hand in all your weapons to continue. Plug into the terminal when asked and watch along on the nearby screen as the algorithm selects two dolls for you to choose from. Choose whichever one you prefer, then choose your safeword and head into the indicated booth inside Clouds. Within the booth, play along with the doll's sequence until the game leaves you no choice but to use your safeword. This will deactivate their chips and allow you to ask them about Evelyn. Use all the blue and polite yellow dialogue options that you can use and they will give you two clues; an incident that happened a few days earlier in booth 11, and another doll who was fairly close with Evelyn named Tom.

Head towards Evelyn's booth first. It's located on the same level as the booth that you were in. To get inside, you will either need to sneak through the dolls' dressing room or force open the booth's door with at least 9 Body, though the latter route will force you into multiple violent conflicts later. Within the booth, you need to scan the blood traces on the wall, followed by a gap located on the left of the bed. Lastly, turn on the holoprojector to view a recording of someone being short-circuited, most likely Evelyn. From this, you can deduce that Evelyn was the victim of an attack by a netrunner. Exit the booth when you're done.

Next, you'll have to talk to Tom. He's in the VIP area of Clouds, which is currently off-limits for you. To get inside the VIP area without conflict, either wait for one of the guards to go to the bathroom and take them out to loot their access card or hack open the door and slip past the guards without them noticing. When you're in the VIP area, head to booth 2 and enter to talk to Tom. Ask him about Evelyn and he'll reveal that he tried to contact her with no avail, and that according to Clouds' boss, Oswald "Woodman" Forrest, she's currently in Oslo.

Exit Tom's booth and head to the back of the VIP area, towards a door marked with "No entry", which is watched over by a guard and a security camera. Sneak through the door when neither the guard nor the camera are looking at the door, then go towards the door in front of you. If you have 7 Tech or 9 Body, you can get past this door, otherwise you'll have to go through a large room to your left. There's one guard inside; either sneak past them or dispose of them quietly. From this room, head to the door on the other side, then go straight through and right once you reach another hallway. We're going to make another stop before entering Woodman's office, which is just to your left. On the right, there is a control room staffed with a single guard. Take them out and then read all the emails on the computer that they were situated at.

When you've read all the emails, it's time to confront Woodman. Head into his office and you'll immediately run into him. It's possible to broker a deal with him if you examined booth 11 quietly, intimidate him if you completed Gig: Monster Hunt before this mission, or simply outright kill him, though this can bug out since he'll appear in a later quest as well. If you killed him, examine his computer to find out that Woodman sent Evelyn to a ripperdoc on Jig-Jig Street called Fingers, otherwise Woodman will tell you himself. If you did not fight him, he will activate an elevator behind the office for you to take back down to the reception, otherwise you will have to fight your way back.

At the reception, take back your weapons and go to the main elevator. Take it down to street level and Johnny will appear again, trying to convince you to go to a place called Mikoshi. Exit the megabuilding to complete this mission and start The Space In Between.

The Space In Between

This mission starts as soon as you exit Megabuilding 8 following Automatic Love. It's recommended to call Judy as soon as you exit. She appreciates you keeping her in the loop and she'll save you some time by telling where Fingers' clinic is. Judy will also wait for you there. Drive to Jig-Jig Street and head towards Fingers' clinic. There's a group of three thugs blocking access to Fingers, deal with them as you see fit. Then, you can either enter the building normally and talk to Judy, or parkour your way into Fingers' office and open the door from the inside. If you choose the former route, you can either gain access by ripping the door open if you have a Body stat of at least 7, have Judy play sick in the waiting room if your Cool is at least level 9, or pay the two sex workers so they can afford to go to a better ripperdoc.

Whatever way you choose to pursue, Judy will generally be antagonistic towards Fingers. You can lose access to Fingers as a ripperdoc if you also choose an antagonistic route, so to avoid this you must settle matters through conversation. Otherwise, you will have multiple occasions where you can punch Fingers. Either way, Fingers will tell you and Judy that he called his fixer, Wakako Okada, to get Evelyn off his hands. Wakako handed her over to a few shady guys who are apparently in the braindance business, with their only discerning detail being some type of moth.

Leave Fingers' office with or without looting the iconic weapon and talk to Judy. She tells you that the men who took Evelyn away are involved with the Death's Head XBD gang, heavily stressing the peril in which Evelyn is. This ends the mission and immediately launches the next Main Job, Disasterpiece.

Disasterpiece

Following your chat with Fingers, talk to Judy in the stairwell. She'll explain that Evelyn being sold off for snuff braindances is bad news, especially with them moving around a lot. She'll also give you a clue; the Pleasures of Night City web page has a dark web version. Alternatively, you can talk to Wakako and ask her about XBD's. She can't procure one for you, however, she'll point you towards someone who can. Talk to the illicit braindance (XBD) dealer in a tunnel close to Fingers' clinic and mention the Death's Head. This will open a shop window in which you can buy a Death's Head XBD for €$1000. With the BD in hand, head back to Judy's van, where you will be put in another braindance analysis segment. The clues you need to find are located at 15, 25 and 40 seconds, all in the visual layer. The pizza, lab coat and coffee will point you towards an old power plant on the border of Westbrook and Santo Domingo.

Judy will drive you there and initially stay in the van to recon the building, leaving you to infilitrate the complex. Here, you also have the opportunity to scan the Justice tarot card on a tall silo to the left. Opening the main door requires Tech 7, but it's also possible to jump over the wall to the left and sneak to a room from which you have good sightlines over the main courtyard. Deal with the scavengers in any way you please; if they are alerted of your presence, Judy will join you in combat.

Either way, look for an entrance into the sublevels of the complex. Go through and scan the clothes pile to see that you're on the right track. Deal with the scavs on this level and loot whatever you can. Two scavs are hidden behind a door requiring at least 5 in Technical to open, but you can also defeat them through a metal fence. This sublevel also contains more intel on the grisly business that the scavs are running in this location.

Go down one more level once the coast is clear. You can clear this area out if need be, but with 9 Tech it's also possible to open a door to the left of the stairs you just descended and immediately head to Evelyn. Either way, when you find her, she is in a dire state. It's evident that she has been sexually abused and tortured, sometimes even at the same time. Since she's also still connected to the Death's Head's braindance network, you'll have to decouple her before she can be moved. Follow Judy's instructions to the letter to correctly get her loose, then carry her to the nearby elevator. Take her back to Judy's van and the mission will complete.

Double Life

This mission automatically starts after you have rescued Evelyn from the Death's Head scavs and wholly takes place inside Judy's apartment.

Talk with Johnny before entering Judy's apartment, then talk to Judy. She's angry at you, but she has dug up some virtus from Evelyn's braindance recorder implant. She'll set them up so you can investigate them, during which you can whisper some words of encouragement towards Evelyn. Sit down inside Judy's office to start investigating the BDs when you're ready.

All the clues for the first braindance are in the visual layer; scan them to reveal that Evelyn was only supposed to scroll a virtu inside Yorinobu's suite for a gang called the Voodoo Boys and that the entire heist was her own doing. The second BD also has clues in the audio layer; overhear the conversation and wait for the translator pack that Judy's installing to listen in on the motive behind the VDBs wanting the chip.

Once you're done, talk to Judy, then talk to Johnny about the Voodoo Boys' motive. Finish up this quest chain by talking to Judy once more and leaving her apartment.
