The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom doesn’t have any literal cheats or codes to enter, but it is full of secrets, hidden armor or weapons, and some clever exploits to give you an advantage. This page breaks down some of the best things for you to go do and find in Tears of the Kingdom if you want a power boost while playing.

Remove Fall Damage

One of the most useful armor sets you can get in Tears of the Kingdom is the Glide Suit. Each piece of this outfit increases your mobility in while diving through the air, but the Set Bonus for it is even cooler.

Once you’ve unlock two Great Fairy Fountains, you’ll be able to upgrade each piece of Glide armor twice, enabling its Set Bonus when wearing all three pieces at once. That ability is called Impact Proof, and it negates all fall damage entirely. That means you can dive as fast toward the surface and don’t have to worry about slowing down – and because you can swap armor any time, it will also let you save yourself by quickly swapping to the suit if you run out of stamina at a great height.

Use Amiibo Multiple Times a Day

Just like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild before it, Tears of the Kingdom allows you to scan an Amiibo once a day for in-game rewards. However, you can go into your Switch settings and move the console’s clock forward a day to use the same Amiibo again immediately. You can do this as much as you want, but keep in mind that if you move the clock back afterward, you won’t be able to scan an Amiibo again on a day your Switch thinks it has already been used.

The items you get have shifted slightly this time around, but you can still use both Zelda-themed and non Zelda-themed Amiibo to make items immediately appear in from of you. Non Zelda-themed Amiibo will provide you with more generic rewards, like Rupees or crafting materials. Meanwhile, Zelda Amiibo have a chance to spawn specific items associated with them – that could be cosmetic Paraglider fabrics, the horse Epona from Ocarina of Time, or outfits from past Zelda games.

Earn Lots of Rupees Fast

One of the fastest ways to earn Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom is cooking and selling Meat Skewers. If you go to the North Tabantha Snowfield in the Northwest section of Hyrule, you are able to find and hunt lots of moose and bear, which provide high-quality meat when killed. Pick it up quickly before it freezes, then return to the nearby stable to the south and cook five of those pieces of meat. You can generally sell the meal it makes for more than 300 rupees a pop, giving you a quick way to make a lot of money without much effort.

Find Korok Seeds Easier with the Korok Mask

While it was a DLC item in Breath of the Wild, the Korok Mask is available right away in Tears of the Kingdom. This armor piece gives you a warning when a Korok is hiding nearby, making collecting Korok Seeds a lot easier. Avoid Enemies Entirely with Majora’s Mask

Majora’s Mask is a powerful item added to Breath of the Wild in the Master Trials DLC. While wearing it, most enemies will ignore you rather than attack you, letting you easily get through caves or difficult regions that might otherwise be too challenging. That said, it was very easy to find in BotW, and in Tears of the Kingdom it’s in a somewhat spoilery area protected by an extremely difficult fight.

Swap Your Heart and Stamina Containers

We know we can increase Heart Containers and stamina vessels by taking Light of Blessing to Goddess Statues, but did you know you can change your mind?

There's a horned statue hidden away that will purchase your Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels for 100 Rupees. It will then offer to sell you back either a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel for 120 Rupees, allowing you to essentially swap containers for a net cost of 20 Rupees.

Find the statue in the Royal Hidden Passage very close to the entrance inside the Emergency Shelter in Lookout Landing. The passageway here will open after completing at least one Regional Phenomena main quest.

Post-Game Completion Tracker

Once you beat Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll be able to load your save file right before the final encounter with a star symbol on it, just like Breath of the Wild. This lets you keep playing, but with a few new advantages for completionists.

Your Adventure Log will now show you the total number of Main Quests, Side Quests, Side Adventures, and Shrine Quests there are, as well as how many you have completed out of that number. Additionally, a percentage tracker is added to the map screen, letting you see how many of the things that would be marked on it you have found – including Skyview Towers, Korok Seeds, and more.
